Zoetrope

Discover the making-of of our Zoetrope

DESIGNED BY THE ITALIAN STUDIO DADOMANI, THE ZOETROPE FROM THE MANUFACTURE ALAIN DUCASSE ILLUSTRATES THE MAJOR STAGES IN THE PRODUCTION OF OUR CHOCOLATES.

Zoetrope (n.m.) - A cylindrical optical instrument invented in the 19th century. Forerunner of animated film, it creates the illusion of movement by linking sequential scenes.

To illustrate some of the 30 or so steps involved in creating a chocolate bonbon, over 1,000 hours of painstaking, hand-crafted artistic work were required, with 160 different 3D printed sculptures and assembled by hand by 20 people. This traveling work of art will soon be on display at some of our shops.
